An Outback Sunset

The sun setting over the Strzelecki Desert

Day 1 of our Lake Eyre Expedition, we left at 6pm and drove through the night to get well out west by the time the sun rose.
From left to right 1.The Sun rising just outside of Cunnamulla 2. The Cunnamulla Fella
3. Mud Spring Area west of Eulo

Beautiful outback roads that stretch westward as far as the eye can see.

There were plenty of small "twisters" around the Queensland, South Australian border. The carving of Burke in a Coolabah tree.

A waterhole fed by a bore from the Great Artesian Basin.

On the second day we explored parts of Lake Eyre.
Left to right 1. Looking over the vast expanse of an empty Lake Eyre
2. An Artesian bore waterhole near Lake Eyre, it's amazing how the desert transforms when a little water is introduced.
3. Deserts on the outskirts of Lake Eyre

So beautiful. We woke up yesterday to 4 inches of snow and then another 4 fell throughout the day!

Beautiful photos! Thank you. Do you call (little) tornadoes 'twisters' in Queensland? We call tiny ones 'willy willies' and bigger ones 'Cock Eyed Bobs' here in WA.
