It all starts with waking up to a 5 degree gloomy day.
No sun for yoga today.
Rugged up for homeschooling, the older kids still going for their morning jog,
bringing home branches to carve, then settling in front of the tv with toast.
Before we know it, its time to leave. Off to the doctors with a few stops along the way.
Before we leave i tell the kids to bring along something to do.
Sarah brings a math book, Ryan a note pad and Ellie a cheeky smile.
And so the note taking begins!
Felting supplies hunted, thrift stores ransacked
Health food store browsed and onto the doctors.
Not too much weight put on, tests ordered, olive leaf enquired about
Babys' heart beat sounding strong.
Mama leaves happy
Home to chores then a few hours left of sunlight to do our felting project.
Sorry about the abundance of pictures but it's Janine's fault! ;-)
We are using pure merino wool purchased though Syrendell and another store that i will edit in the morning.
Using non dyed wool for the inside of our felted balls so we dont use up too much of our colours,
we roll the wool into a tight ball then submerge into a bowl of warm water letting the water soak right into the ball.
Following this tutorial we handle the ball with soap untill it is felted
I found it easier using a large piece of colored wool rather than using the carders like Ellie is in the picture below.
We then handled the balls felting over the colored wool
Rinse the balls under running water trying to squeeze out the extra soap and water
and continue handling the ball untill you are happy with it.
I will let you know how the drying goes.
Im pretty happy with our finished product, especially this being our first time felting.
I will be purchasing needle felting needles so we can do more designs.
Now mama is on her rocking chair while movie night commences
Already tired
but contented

Beautiful projects! Everything looks wonderful. I recognize that pretty rainbow wool, it's from Spinning Awesome Good on Etsy.
